Smooth Fine Art Reproduction

Sometimes you need more than a photo paper, sometimes you are looking for a fine art print. Typically this is called a rag paper. Digital photography looks beautiful on a smooth fine art paper. It adds an artistic quality that is incomparable to any other print. There are also textured fine art paper but that works best for watercolor art reproductions

What is a giclée?

giclée (zhee-clay) n. 1. a type of digital fine-art print. 2. Most often associated with reproductions; a giclée is a multiple print or exact copy of an original work of art that was created by conventional means (painting, drawing, etc.) and then reproduced digitally, typically via inkjet printing. First use in this context by Jack Duganne in 1991, Los Angeles, California.

Some may like to argue the true meaning of  giclée, I totally get why. The World has changed since digital photography. We have so many more capabilities to get jobs done.  Giclée used to all be done with an Iris printer. But now more people use ink jets (not all ink jest are made the same) People have adopted or adapted the word   “giclée” to  mean an art reproduction

If you have water colors or oil painting we can photograph or scan and make beautiful prints ready for resale using smooth fine art , textured, luster, or canvas. We can help decide what will work best for your project.
